Food Prep by Lara’s Chin Chin is made from scratch in small batches using a simple dough of flour, butter, sugar, and a touch of nutmeg that gives it a warmth without being overpowering. The dough is rolled, cut, and fried low and slow until every piece is evenly golden, completely crunchy all the way through, and dry enough to store without losing its texture.

In Nigeria, Chin Chin is everywhere. At Christmas it is made in enormous batches and shared across households. At parties it sits in bowls alongside other small chops. At home it lives in a tin on the kitchen counter and disappears steadily throughout the week. It is the kind of snack that crosses every cultural boundary because the appeal is universal. Crunchy, slightly sweet, completely addictive.

Each pack contains 500g of freshly made Chin Chin, enough to share or, more likely, not to. It also makes an excellent gift, travelling well and keeping its crunch for up to two weeks when stored in an airtight container.
